North Dalmatia is sometimes overlooked as a holiday destination, which is a shame. It is just as fantastic as the rest of the Croatian coast, and there are also some amazing historic sights here in the towns of Zadar, the wonderful Trogir and gorgeous Sibenik. The resorts of Biograd na moru and Vodice are popular with holidaymakers from all over Europe. Meanwhile, the Kornati islands are fantastic for exploring; the 125 islands that make up the archipelago range greatly in size and type. All of these wonderful towns, resorts and islands mean there’s plenty to choose from amongst accommodation in North Dalmatia.
The region is also very easy to reach. The main airport in the region is Zadar, to which there are now a great number of flights from the UK and the rest of Europe. See our Getting to North Dalmatia page for more details.

Accommodation in North Dalmatia – Highlights
Zadar
For families, there is the excellent four-star Falkensteiner Family Hotel Diadora. Located on the Punta Skala peninsula (which is about 12 kilometres north of Zadar), this hotel boasts a pool (and kids’ indoor pool), sports facilities, a private beach area, a spa and wellness centre and a large kids’ fun area. Another excellent option for families is the four-star Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik, which also has multiple pools, an indoor soft play area, kids’ clubs, and is closer to town. Read my personal experiences of a stay here: Visit Croatia Review: Falkensteiner Funimation Hotel Borik Zadar.
Top choices in Zadar itself include the Almayer Art & Heritage Hotel, the Art Hotel Kalelarga, the Teatro Verdi Boutique Hotel and the Bastion Heritage Hotel.

Sibenik
We would highly recommend the Amadria Park Resort, which is located slightly outside of Šibenik. It is, in fact, a huge resort comprising several different hotels, as well as mobile home and camping options. The Family Hotel Jakov or the Kids Hotel Andrija are just as they sound – absolutely fantastic for families! Alternatively, the Hotel Jure is a great choice for couples or as a base for a stylish break with friends.
Also slightly outside of Sibenik is the super stylish D-Resort Sibenik with an outdoor pool and spa. The hotel has a range of room options, as well as four-person villas with private pools.
More in the centre of Sibenik are the Palace Divnic by Amerun Heritage Hotel and the Heritage Hotel Life Palace. Both are four-star hotels, and both have great locations right by many sights.
