Istria is the most northerly part of Croatia’s coastline, and it’s where a number of Croatia’s most popular towns are located – including Porec and Rovinj – as well as other popular holiday destinations such as Umag and Medulin. Pula, with its wonderful sights, including a 1st century Roman amphitheatre, is the largest town in the region.
The main airport in the region is Pula, to where a number of airlines fly to from several UK airports. See our Flights to Croatia from the UK & Ireland page for further details.
For more travel options, and also depending on what resort you go to, you may also consider flying to Trieste or Treviso with Ryanair (and then taking a train/bus to Istria); take a look at our Travelling from Italy to Croatia section for details on how to travel between the two countries.
The region has a wide variety of hotels, apartments, villas, private accommodation and even lighthouses! Use the search box below to search for accommodation (you can type in a different resort) or click on the links below to see the assorted accommodation options for Istria’s resorts and towns.
