The region of Northern Croatia includes Varazdin County, Medjimurje County, Koprivnica-Krizevci County and Virovitica-Podravina County. The main town in this part of the country is the beautiful Varazdin, which is home to just under 50,000 people. Other well-known towns located here include Koprivnica, Krizevci, Cakovec and Virovitica.
The region is perhaps not the most visited part of the country which is a shame as it is home to some great towns and sights, and beautiful (and peaceful) countryside. The River Drava passes through this part of Croatia, lending its name to the region of Podravina.
