Events in March 2019

A region famed for its oysters must have an event dedicated to them – right? Luckily, it does! The Festival of Oysters takes place on St Joseph’s Day (19th March) and the days after in Ston and Mali Ston, when a multitude of oyster dishes can be sampled, along with some local wines. Traditional singing and dancing also takes place.

Events in June 2019

As with many other Croatian coastal towns and cities, Cavtat also has a run of summer events from June to September, featuring concerts, dance performances, street performances and more. All events are free; check locally for full details.

The 10th Film Food Festival Kinookus will be on at the end of June; each year, the festival takes on a specific theme. There’s film and documentary screenings, talks and workshops – plus gastronomic presentations as well, of course!

Events in September 2019

The Ston Wall Marathon (you’ve read that correctly!) takes place mid September, and must surely be one of the most unique running races in the world!

The Epidaurus Festival is in its 13th year in 2018, taking place in Cavtat in mid-September. The arts festival – named after the old name for Cavtat – largely focuses on music but also includes art, drama, theatre and other cultural events.
