The Festival
Started in 2009 in collaboration with the team behind the Exit Festival, getEXITed is intended as a warm-up event that festival in Novi Sad, Serbia (being held 7th - 10th July 2011). And really, what better a warm-up event than one held on the gorgeous Adriatic coast, in the party town of Novalja on the island of Pag?
This year's getEXITed Festival will take place over four days in the famous Club Papaya on Zrce Beach in Novalja. Each day will see a separate DJ headline; so far, Fritz Kalkbrenner (Monday 27th); Dennis Ferrer (Wednesday 29th); and Joris Voorn (Thursday 30th) have been announced.
Incidentally, Club Papaya has a number of well-known DJs and dance acts playing throughout the summer, from their opening weekend of 17th - 19th June 2011. Do check their website for listings details of any other events you'd like to attend!
Likewise, don't forget that the well-established Garden Festival is also taking place not too far away - in Petrcane, near Zadar - the following week (6th to 13th July), so that's something else that might fit in with your summer party plans!
Tickets for the getEXITed Festival
Tickets for the four-day event can be bought from the Eventim.hr ticketing website for 150 Kunas (approx. £17.50/€20/$28).
Accommodation for the Festival
There are a number of accommodation options - including apartments, private rooms and hotels - in Novalja itself, or on the rest of the island of Pag should you wish to stay a little further away. You can search for accommodation in and near Novalja using the accommodation search box below:
You can also search for various options on Croatian accommodation portal Adriagate's Novalja page.
Getting to Pag
The nearest airport to the island of Pag is Zadar airport on the mainland. The airport is serviced by a reasonable number of flights from the UK (by Ryanair) and elsewhere in Europe. See our Getting to North Dalmatia page which has a full listing of the airlines that fly from various European cities.
From Zadar airport, you can take a transfer bus to the main bus terminal in Zadar. From here you can take an additional bus direct to Novalja. Journey time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Travelling on to the Exit Festival
If you are combining this event with the Exit Festival, the best way of travelling on from Novalja would be to head back to the mainland - to ideally Zadar, or possibly Split - and then make your onward journey from here. You can try and organise your own route - take a look at our Travelling Around section for some helpful info - but it might be easiest to book an organised transfer. EUFest is one company that arrange bus transfers from Zadar and Split direct to Novi Sad.
If you wish to make your way to Dubrovnik (say for a brief break there before heading to Serbia), there a four times a week flights from there to Belgrade (about an hour and a half from Novi Sad) during summer with Croatia Airlines and JAT.
