This is a guide to all the hotels I visited (or stayed in) during my trip. Please note, however, that some of the hotels were only visited briefly, so I may have been unable to fully review some of them.

Brac: Supetar:
Hotel Kaktus
Room stayed in had 1 double bed plus 1 single bed, which was clean
TV in room with usual satellite channels (German, Italian, CNN, Eurosport)
Modern bathroom with shower
Balcony
Large dining area
Large swimming pool
10 tennis courts
Short walk to the sea with good beach for families

Kaktus Apartments
Fairly large with 2 bedrooms: can be used by 4-6 people, with fully-equipped kitchenette

Hotel Salvia
Annexe of above
Smaller rooms, separate from above hotel, so not really a hotel like feel, more like private accommodation (which may suit some people)

Supetar

Brac: Bol:
Hotel Bretanide
Nice modern hotel complex, built in Dalmatia style with white stone setting predominant, spread over a fairly large area and close to the sea
Large pool
2 large restaurants, including one typical Dalmatian taverna with open fire burning stove for cooking in centre
Small but cosy bar/club with plenty of open seating area
However, quite a few steps in walking through the complex, which may cause problems for some people
World famous "Golden Horn"/"Zlatni Rat" beach close by

Hotel Bonaca
Sister hotel of above
All inclusive holidays with family orientation - this was clear to see when walking through the hotel complex
Large fun-orientated pool, with kids pool beside
2 kids' playgrounds
Double rooms and family rooms available (however, these are housed in different buildings) E.g.: double room + 2 single rooms or a double room + 2 settees
Newly built restaurant/bar/terrace: very modern looking and large & spacious
Another sprawling complex

Hvar: Hvar Town:
Hotel Palace
Very large rooms (although apparently too small for the hotel to be given a four star rating)
A few rooms have balconies, but many have a stunning view over the harbour
Large, smart dining area
Pretty terrace overlooking the harbour where breakfast is served during summer months
Hotel also houses a 16th century loggia - used for formal occasions
One of the nicest hotels we visited

Hvar: Stari Grad:
Hotel Arkada
Hotel set in pine woods
Large spacious entrance, reception and dining area
Smallish rooms but some have balconies and pretty view towards the town of Stari Grad, which is within walking distance

Trim Bungalows
Another Dalmatian style, small holiday village, next to Hotel Arkada
All bungalows sleep up to 4 people with a double room and 2 sofa/settee beds (which are in the living room) plus a kitchenette
Small shop nearby
People staying here can use all facilities of 3-star Hotel Arkada

Hvar: Jelsa:
Hotel Mina
Bit old fashioned with smallish rooms and plain bathrooms, but spotlessly clean
Beautiful location on a hill with a sandy beach area suitable for all the family
A naturist beach nearby
Large reception area and bar (with live music in evenings) and large dining room
Female director (Suzanne) is British and a very welcoming host
Many repeat customers
Within walking distance of town centre

Baska Voda:
Hotel Horizont
Nice four-star hotel, refurbished last year and hence quite modern looking
One of the most popular hotels on the Makarska Riviera
Family room available: double room + two settees
Largish rooms with balconies and beautiful sea views
Pebble beach close to hotel

Makarska:
Hotel Meteor
Overlooking the sea, with the stunning Biokovo Mountain in the background
Good position close to the centre of the town
Many sports facilities available
Reasonably sized rooms
2 dining areas
View a bit poor from some rooms
Very attractive outdoor swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds

Hotel Biokovo
Modern hotel in town centre, located right by sea front: no pool but beach very close
Newly refurbished and smart dining area
Beautiful cafe outside hotel for relaxing and people watching!
No lifts

Makarska

Dubrovnik:
Hotel Lapad
Right by harbour
Small pool in central courtyard
Garden restaurant available during summer and 2 further restaurants
Has 2 parts: old and new (Holiday Options customers stay in new part)
Smallish rooms - shared balcony

Villa Orsula
Beautiful - first class, very exclusive
Very few double rooms, plus 2 suites and a few singles
Very smart bar and restaurant
Balconies have gorgeous views of the sea and the Old Town
Pretty gardens
Looks like a old villa from the outside, not a hotel
(Definitely my top choice!)

Hotel Excelsior
Very large, smart, exclusive hotel
Indoor pool + whirlpool and kids pool
Restaurant and bar, and outside eating possible
Squash and gym available
Shops inside (e.g. souvenir shop, tie shop)
One of the nicest hotels visited

Grand Hotel Park
Modern - looking as though had been recently renovated
Located in subtropical gardens on the Lapad peninsula
Smallish, well-furnished rooms with good views
Indoor and outdoor pool
A few minutes walk from the beach
The Old Town is some distance away, but there is a regular bus service

Lopud:
Hotel Lafodia
Very 70s looking, but good location
Only hotel on the very quiet island of Lopud
Smallish rooms, some completely refurbished
Nice sunbathing terrace and beach beside the hotel

Cavtat:
Hotel Cavtat
Small hotel with very relaxing atmosphere
Rooms on the small side
Located in one of the best positions on the bay of Cavtat
Very close to town centre
Good connections by bus or boat to Dubrovnik
Guests may use the facilities of the large Hotel Albatros

Hotel Albatros
Lovely four-star hotel, very spacious and roomy - both in rooms and in corridors/lounge areas
Spectacular views
Excellent facilities, including large pool and large children's pool
Outside eating area very pleasant
Family rooms available
About a 10 minute, pleasant walk to the town centre
