
Getting to Mljet is pretty easy from Dubrovnik. As you’ll see below, there are a number of catamaran options, including some services that operate year-round. There are also services from Split, plus connections to the island of Korcula as well.
If you’re travelling to Mljet with a car, there is a ferry connection from Prapratno on the mainland.

Getting to Mljet from Dubrovnik
By catamaran (foot passengers only)
- Dubrovnik to Sobra and Polace: There’s a year-round, daily catamaran service, run by TP Line, from Dubrovnik to Sobra and Polace on the island of Mljet. Journey time is about an hour, and some boats sail via the island of Sipan. In July and August, some services also sail on from Mljet to the island of Korcula. In the winter months, this catamaran only sails to Sobra.
- Dubrovnik to Sobra: TP Line operate another route that runs from Dubrovnik to Korcula and Ubli on Lastovo, which makes a stop outbound on certain days in summer
- Dubrovnik to Pomena: Krilo Shipping Company have a new for 2026! service that runs from Dubrovnik via Pomena to Korcula, sailing during the summer months
- Dubrovnik to Pomena: Kapetan Luka have a catamaran service that runs from Dubrovnik to Pomena, travelling on to Korcula, Hvar Town and Milna on Brac. This service runs daily from April to October

Catamarans from Split
The above-mentioned Kapetan Luka catamaran can be used to travel from Split to Pomena. You can also use them to travel from Brac (Milna), Hvar Town or Korcula.
Catamarans from Korcula
You can use any of the catamarans mentioned above – run by TP Line, Krilo Shipping Company or Kapetan Luka – to make the hop from Korcula to Mljet.
Getting to Mljet by Car Ferry
- Peljesac Peninsula (Prapratno) to Sobra: Jadrolinija have a car ferry service from Prapratno on the mainland to Sobra; this ferry runs several times a day and has a journey time of 45 minutes. This is the only option available for reaching the island of Mljet if you have your own car.

Getting Around on Mljet
Buses on Mljet will take you around the island. There’s a bus that goes from Sobra to Pomena (via Polace and Goverdjari) on the west of the island, and another from Sobra to Saplunara (via Prozura and Korita) on the east of the island. These routes aren’t all that frequent, so enquire locally upon arrival for bus schedules.
Taxis also exist on Mljet to take you where you’re going.
