The 13th Makarska Jazz Festival is almost here
We are just a couple of weeks away from the 13th edition of the Makarska Jazz Festival (28th – 30th August 2026), one of the best jazz events in Croatia. The festival, in the picturesque town of Makarska, is a great way of rounding off the summer, with multiple outdoor concerts. Read on below for all the details of this year’s event!

Spanish bass virtuoso Vincen Garcia performs on 28th August
The first concert of the festival will be a performance by Spanish bass virtuoso Vincen Garcia, one of the most prominent musicians of the new generation of jazz artists. His distinctive style has wowed audiences around the world. The concert will be held at 9pm on Friday, 28th August and tickets can be bought ahead of time on Eventim or on the door.

Legendary band Incognito sparks up Saturday night
The second evening of the festival, Saturday 29th August, will see the legendary Incognito delight the audience. Incognito are one of the most influential names on the jazz-funk and acid jazz scene, and their distinctive sound and amazing musicianship have been bringing joy to audiences for over four decades. Once again, tickets for this second concert can be purchased on Eventim or on the door.

Free morning concert on Sunday 30th August
One of the very special events at each Makarska Jazz Festival is a free morning concert performed by local school children and young singers. This year, the young singers have been working hard all year under the direction of their teachers from Makarska Music School and the Gradska glazba Makarska Orchestra.
At 10am on Sunday 30th August on 4th May 533 Square in the centre of Makarska, the singers will take to the stage under the direction of conductor Alan Bjelinski, in a performance hosted by musician Ante Gelo. They will perform alongside musicians from Makarska Music School and the Gradska glazba Makarska.
As well as being a wonderful opportunity for the audience to experience jazz music by these young performers, for the singers it will be the first time many of them have sung on such a stage and will be an experience they will treasure. Be sure to come by for this Sunday morning concert!
