Travelling from Split to Hvar by ferry or catamaran is one of the most popular public transport sailing routes in Croatia, so I’ve put together this page with timetable details of all routes to the island.

Split to Hvar by Catamaran – Split to Hvar Town

There are several different companies that operate services on the Split to Hvar Town route – Jadrolinija, Kapetan Luka and TP Line. Please note that many more sailings on this route are expected during the peak summer months – timetables have yet to be revealed.

Split to Hvar by Ferry – Split to Stari Grad

The port of Stari Grad is the main port on the island of Hvar, and it’s the town where the large car ferries dock. It’s the only way of getting on to the island if you’re arriving with a car from Split. (There is another, smaller, car ferry operating from Drvenik on the mainland to Sucuraj on the eastern end of Hvar.) You can of course also utilise this car ferry if you’re a foot passenger.

The main ferry operator in Croatia Jadrolinija operates the Split to Stari Grad. The journey time of the ferry is 2 hours.

For the avoidance of doubt – if you are travelling with a car you will need to pay for the price of the car and for all passengers.

Split to Hvar by Catamaran – Split to Jelsa

You can travel from Split to Jelsa only by catamaran – meaning, on foot-passenger only boats that do not take cars.

Jadrolinija operates the catamaran running on this route. The journey time to Jelsa is 1 hour 30/40 minutes, and the catamaran makes a stop at Bol on the island of Brac in between Split and Jelsa.
