About Stop Making Sense

Stop Making Sense burst onto the Croatian festival scene in 2010, taking place towards the end of the season in September. This year, however, the festival will take place in a prime, mid-July slot – a fantastic time of year to head down to the idyllic festival setting of Tisno and party the days and nights away.

This boutique festival always features an eclectic and exciting selection of music and artists, and 2015’s event will be no exception. Headliners such as Skream, Jackmaster, Anja Schneider, Martyn, Nick Höppner, Sebo K and Anthony Naples are all already on the bill; there will also be crews such as Sub CluB, Mobilee, Tessellate and Corsica Studios, plus residents Jasper James, Miss Jools, Mylers Mears, Farrer, Twinkat Soul and more.

The regular boat parties – an important part of any Croatian festival! – will of course return, taking place twice daily, and are a must as always. With daytime revellery at the Beach Bar, and night time shenanigans at the famous Barbarella’s Discotheque, this is definitely one event to put in your diaries for summer!

Accommodation for Stop Making Sense

There’s a good selection of on-site accommodation available to revellers, including camping (as mentioned above) plus a small selection of apartments. For something a little more unique, there’s also Shikar tents, airstream trailers and even wooden yachts moored nearby!

Getting to Tisno

Located roughly halfway between the town of Zadar and the city of Split – and their respective airports – Tisno and the Stop Making Sense festival is easy to reach!

Although slightly further away to Tisno than Zadar Airport, Split is the best place to fly into as there are many flights to here from the UK – see our Getting to Split page for details. There are also a great number of flights from other European cities to Split.

Ryanair are the only airline to fly from the UK & Ireland to Zadar, doing so from London Stansted, Manchester and Dublin airports – see the Getting to North Dalmatia section for more info on these routes and those from other European cities.

If you don’t make arrangements with the festival’s official transfer company, you can still make your own way to Tisno from either Split or Zadar using one of the numerous buses that run daily from either. (You’ll first need to transfer from the airport to the main bus station in Split or Zadar – but this is very easy to do.) You can look up bus timetables on the Split Bus Terminal and Zadar Bus Terminal websites.

If you’re having trouble finding out details about public transport to Tisno, try searching for buses to “Murter”; you could also travel to Sibenik, which is the nearest large town to Tisno and the island of Murter. There are many buses per day to Sibenik from both Zadar or Split.
