NOTE: For Festival no longer takes place.
This year’s FOR Festival will be held on Hvar from the 4th to 6th September 2015.
FOR Festival burst onto the Croatian festival scene in 2013, providing a chic alternative on Croatia’s chic-est island – Hvar – to some of the more clubbier events that take place on the Adriatic these days. Acts that have appeared at FOR in the last couple of years include James Blake, Tame Impala, Solange Knowles, Haim, Klaxons, DJ sets from 2ManyDJs, James Murphy and Mark Ronson, Nicolas Jaar and Horse Meat Disco. We’re sure 2015’s line-up will be just as impressive!
Billed as a “non-traditional” music festival, FOR (named after the island’s ancient name) is brought to you by Australian music label Modular Recordings. This is an intimate festival on one of Croatia’s best islands that will be kicking off the island party season in style.
Full details of FOR Festival 2015 have yet to be revealed, so do watch this space for more information as and when it comes in.

Getting to Hvar and the FOR Festival
Split Airport is the closest airport to the island of Hvar, and certainly the one you should fly to if you’re heading to FOR. There’s numerous flights from the UK and all over Europe to Split – check out our Getting to Split page for details of these. From Split Airport, it’s an easy transfer to the main bus terminal in the city, which is adjacent to the port – see our Getting to and from Split Airport page.
From Split, there are then several catamaran services direct to Hvar Town during summer, which have a journey time of only one hour. Jadrolinija operate several catamarans a day (one in the late morning, two in the afternoon).
Kapetan Luka also have a very early morning sailing to Hvar (departs Split at 7.45am, arrives in Hvar Town at 8.45am) – this same catamaran can be used to reach Hvar from Brac (Milna), Korcula, Mljet or Dubrovnik. The same company also have additional catamaran services between Split and Hvar on Tuesdays.
