The inaugural Beats, Beer and Boogaloo will take place in The Garden Tisno, 13th to 17th July 2017.
Here’s a wonderfully quirky and fun new festival on the Croatian coast for summer 2017 – one with a heady mix of the best funked-up soundtrack and craft beers from around the world!
There’s plenty of acts already announced that will be appearing at Beats, Beer and Boogaloo. Headliners include Hot 8 Brass Band and Geno Washington And The Ram Jam Band, with Craig Charles Fantasy Funk Band (plus special guest), Amp Fiddler, Guts (solo/MPC) and Kon all also on the bill, amongst many other names. Some of the best DJs Croatia has to offer will also be performing at the festival, including The Funk Delegation Croatia, Bocca Sofistifunk, Pips, Slipmat, and Werft.
On the beer side of things, there will be tasty samplings from across the globe. From London there’s Gipsy Hill, Five Points, Four Pure and Magic Rock; Dogma from Serbia; Bevog from Austria; and three from Croatia: Nova Runda, LAB and Zmajska. Each brewery will bring two types of beer to feature on a long tap bar, and everyone will be able to sample more than 30 beers during the festival – more breweries will be announced soon from across Europe.
As well as festival favourites such as boat parties and club nights at the legendary outdoor club Barbarella’s, Beats, Beers and Boogaloo will have plenty of unique offerings for a Croatian festival. These include street food, tutored drinks tastings, and a carnival procession through the streets of Tisno, no less!
About Beats, Beer and Boogaloo
This brand new festival is brought to you by the co-founders of The Garden Festival and The Garden Brewery, Nick and Charlotte Colgan, and Craig Charles’ Funk and Soul Club. Nick and Charlotte revolutionised the festival scene on the Dalmatian coast with The Garden Festival, which was held for ten very successful years before coming to an end in 2015. They then launched their most ambitious project to date – building from scratch The Garden Brewery in Zagreb, which has produced 17 different beers shipping to 25 EU countries and was rated as Croatia’s best new craft brewery in the country for 2016 by RateBeer.com.
Craig Charles is one of the UK’s foremost funk and soul spinners, with his encyclopaedic knowledge at the fore each time he gets behind the decks. As well as DJing, the Craig Charles Fantasy Funk Band (plus special guest) will also be delighting the crowds. The band was created when Craig asked his show’s listeners who would be in their favourite funk band; since 2007 the band’s various members have performed at festivals around the world.

A limited number of early bird tickets are currently available – these are priced at £80 (plus booking fee) for the whole weekend, and include two nights at Barbarella’s! Once these sell out, tickets will be priced at £115 (plus b.f.)

Getting to Tisno
Tisno is located roughly halfway between Split and Zadar, and there’s plenty of flight options to both airports from the UK and from all over Europe.
Split has more flights from the UK than Zadar, however – with flights from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh. See our Getting to Split page for details of all air routes, plus flights from elsewhere in Europe.
