Zagreb is a wonderful city to visit, with numerous sights, museums and galleries to view during the day, as well as restaurants, bars and cafes for nightime enjoyment. It's perfect for a weekend break from elsewhere in Europe, or for a few days at the start/end of your stay in Croatia. For other options, try flying with Ryanair to Graz in Austria (then travel to Zagreb by bus or train) or to Trieste in Italy (then by bus). Easyjet also fly to the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, which is only 2 hours away from Zagreb by train.
