Events in North Dalmatia in February 2026
The Zadar Wine Festival – featuring wine producers from all over Croatia – will be held towards the middle of this month.
Events in North Dalmatia in March 2026
The Zadar Open ATP Challenger men’s tennis event will take place from 15th to 22nd March 2026.
Events in North Dalmatia in April 2026
The Zadar Night Run will take place on 11th April 2026. It is as it sounds – a race in the centre of the town (in fact, you can choose a course out of three of differing lengths) that starts at 8.30pm at the Greeting to the Sun installation by the sea.
Paklenica National Park holds an International Climbers Meeting in late April each year in which teams of two people compete in a “big wall” speed climbing event in the Velika Paklenica canyon. More details can be found on the Paklenica National Park website.
Events in North Dalmatia in May 2026
Watch out for the Zadar Street Food Festival this month; a number of local restaurants will be offering their tasty dishes.
The International Choir Competition should be held in Zadar at the end of May.
The lively Fish & Jazz Festival will delight visitors to Zadar at the end of May.
Events in North Dalmatia in June 2026
The Trogir Summer Festival commences in mid-June but stretches out over July and August too. A number of traditional and modern concerts are held, together with theatre and dance performances, and exhibitions from both Croatian and international performers at various venues throughout Trogir.
The Velebit Ultra Trail takes place in June in Paklenica National Park. There are five categories (50 Miles, Marathon, Challenger, Active and Light) to compete in. You can sign up for any of these events on the website.
The Zadar Summer Theatre Festival runs from the end of June to the beginning of August each year; a variety of comedy, drama and monologue performances will be on show during this time. Some musical performances are also part of the festival.
The cathedral in Nin – the smallest cathedral in the world – hosts a festival of sun and light on 21st June each year, which is, of course, the longest day of the year.
The International Children’s Festival will be on in Sibenik from 13th to 27th June 2026; the first event took place in 1958. Expect an extensive programme of events to entertain kids!
Rock legend Robert Plant will be performing at St Michael’s Fortress in Sibenik on 20th and 21st June 2026.
Events in North Dalmatia in July 2026
The Musical Evenings of St Donat, held early July to early August in Zadar, are a series of classical concerts by Croatian and international performers and musicians at St Donatus Church and various other locations in the town.
Look out for TOC Day & Night in the region in mid-July. Expect DJs, music, great food, workshops and more.
Animation festival SUPERTOON will be held in Sibenik this month, showcasing short animated films, as well as films for children and other animated features.
The Zadar Jazz and Blues Festival should be held in mid-July.
British singer Joss Stone will perform at St Michael’s Fortress in Sibenik on 15th July 2026.
Just days later, Skunk Anasie will also play two gigs at St Michael’s Fortress on 19th and 20th July 2026.
The 13th edition of the underground techno Moondance Festival will be held in and around Kamerlengo Castle in Trogir at the end of July.
The Millennium Jump – where hundreds of people jump into the sea from the Riva in Zadar – is held on a day at the end of July.
The Croatian International Film Festival will be held in Sibenik from 24th to 27th July 2026. Held in five stunning venues in the town, there’s a closing awards ceremony in the Barone Fortress on the final night.
Events in North Dalmatia in August 2026
The wonderful Full Moon Festival takes place on the Riva in Zadar each year in early August. Locals turn off their lights and head to the candlelit waterfront to enjoy music and food. A must if you’re in the region at this time of the year.
The 29th Evenings of Dalmatian Chanson are held over two days in mid-August in Sibenik. (A chanson is a special type of lyrical song – I had to look that up!) The event showcases typical Dalmatian singing.
A Sand Festival takes place in the small town of Nin one Saturday in mid-August each year.
Sibenik celebrates the Light is Life Festival with a gorgeous light display on/around 28th August each year. This festival marks the date when Sibenik became the first city in the world, in 1895, no less, to have its streetlights powered by AC electricity.
Events in North Dalmatia in September 2026
Mountaineering group Highlander – who run events all over central and southern Europe and even further beyond – will be hosting their Highlander Velebit adventure from 1st to 6th September 2026.
The theatrical Monodrama Festival should be on in Zadar in early September.
Ship Festival (10th – 13th September 2026) promotes itself as a celebration of music and takes place at a number of venues across Sibenik, including the spectacular St Michael’s Fortress.
The Medieval Fair in Sibenik will be held in late September, with music, dancing, “sports” (knights’ battles and crossbowmen), food and stands with items for sale.
The Zadar Half Triathlon is held at the end of September.
Events in North Dalmatia in October 2026
The second edition of the Croatia Yacht Show should be held early this month!
The 19th Festival of Tolerance (the Jewish Film Festival) will be held in Zadar from in mid-October.
The 28th Biograd Boat Show – the largest boat show in Croatia – takes place from 21st to 25th October 2026.
Events in North Dalmatia in December 2026
As with many other towns and cities in Croatia, Zadar will be hosting special Christmas and New Year‘s events. Christmas will see special festivities centred around music, food, markets, and exhibitions. New Year’s Eve will see the typical free ‘party’ on the streets in the centre of town, ringing in the New Year with live music. More details can be found on the Zadar Tourist Board website.
