Most visitors to Croatia usually
come from the neighbouring or nearby countries of Austria, Slovenia, Italy and Germany. For the citizens of these countries (and even those beyond them), it's relatively easy to hop in a car and drive down to Croatia.
If you are from northern Europe and intending to drive to Croatia,
the easiest way to get to the country would be to drive to Munich
and then enter Austria, drive down to Graz, cross over into Slovenia, and
then head for Croatia which is signposted as soon as you leave
Maribor.
For those coming by plane, the main airports are located in
Zagreb, Pula, Split, Dubrovnik and Rijeka (which is in
fact on the nearby island of Krk). There are flights from most of the major European countries to Croatia, and most European airlines fly there. The well-known budget airlines have also started flying to Croatia in the last few years - you're really spoilt for choice with air routes!

There section for much more detailed information on getting to the country by various modes of transport.
Visa Requirements for Croatia
Foreign visitors do not normally require visas to
enter Croatia. Citizens of the U.S., the U.K., EU countries, Australia and New Zealand DO NOT need visas.
For other countries, please check the Croatian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website. If you do need one,
please contact the Croatian Embassy in your country (also detailed on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website) for more information
on how to obtain a visa.
Holders of Schengen Visas
A new regulation for 2012 - holders of Schengen visas now also DO NOT need to obtain an additional visa to visit Croatia (for the purposes of a tourist visit). This new ruling is in effect for the whole of 2012, not just for the summer months. (Which was the case in previous years, when Croatia relaxed visa regulations for certain countries to encourage more visitors - but only during peak season.)
This ruling will certainly help those visitors from Russia, the Ukraine, Middle Eastern countries, South American countries and Asian countries who would like to visit Croatia. (And we'd love to have you in Croatia!)
For more details, once again please do visit the website of the Croatian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
