When you fly into Zadar Airport you’ll notice (as your plane parks up directly by the terminal building!) that it’s quite a small yet modern airport. It does, however, have everything you might need from an airport, albeit on a small scale.
Because of its size, getting through immigration is a relatively speedy affair, and you’ll also not wait long for the luggage either.
Travelling to and from Zadar Airport
Zadar Airport is located close to Zadar itself (it’s only around 11km from the Old Town), so it is easy to travel between the two. The best way to do so is by bus – buses wait outside the terminal building on the right hand side, and you simply pay the driver when you board. The bus makes two stops, one at the main bus station in Zadar (so you can immediately board a bus to another destination) and the second just outside the Old Town in Zadar, where all the sights and many restaurants, bars and places of accommodation are located.
Tickets cost 25 Kunas (the same price to either stop) and it only takes about 15 minutes to the bus station and then a further five minutes to Zadar Old Town.
There is a timetable available on the Zadar Airport website – this is probably more useful to look at if you’re looking to get to the Airport from Zadar.
Taxis are also available from outside the terminal building – however, we would really recommend getting the bus instead as it’s so cheap and such a short journey!
From/To Zadar Airport and Sibenik
A new initiative for summer 2019 is a direct bus service from Zadar Airport to Sibenik. Operating daily from the end of June to the end of August, the timetable can be found here. Tickets cost 60 Kunas one-way and can be purchased on board.
ATMs & Changing Money
Just beyond the baggage claim area, when you arrive, there are a number of ATMs to withdraw cash from. A bureau de change is also located here.
Cafes, Restaurants and Shopping
There are several cafes at Zadar Airport for a sit down bite and drink; there’s even one without outdoor seating! (Out of the front of the airport.) The main shop sells ‘wares’ from Croatia, including the all important bottles of spirits and wine.
Car Hire at Zadar Airport
There is ample parking at Zadar Airport. It costs 20 Kunas for the first hour, and less for subsequent hours.
More information can be found on the official website.
