The nearest airport to the Makarska Riviera is Split Airport. See our Getting to Split section for full details on which airlines fly there from the UK and Europe.

From Split Airport, take one of the connecting buses to Split Bus Station. From here, you can then take one of a wide selection of buses to your final destination in the Makarska Riviera. Here are journey times to some destinations:

(N.B. This are all approximate times - actual times depend on which bus you take with which company, and so on.)

to Makarska - 1 hour 15 minutes

to Baska Voda - 1 hour

to Tucepi - 1 hour 15 minutes

There are ferries from Sumratin on Brac to Makarska (if you're travelling from that island) with Jadrolinija. There aren't ferries from any else to Makarska.

If you're travelling from elsewhere in Croatia to here, the best idea is to take a bus to Makarska, and then make your onward journey (if no direct bus lines exist). Here are some bus journey times from various places in the rest of the country:

from Zagreb - 6 hours 20 minutes

from Dubrovnik - 3 hours

from Rijeka - 9 hours 30 minutes
