Unfortunately, Croatia Rocks never returned to Croatia after the first edition…but we’ll keep this page to remember them!
Croatia’s festival season wouldn’t be complete without a newcomer on the scene…right? And what better newcomer than Croatia Rocks – sister event to the legendary Ibiza Rocks – that will take place on Zrce Beach, Novalja on the island Pag 19th to 23rd July 2015.
Mixing together the flavour of Ibiza into the party-hard setting of Zrce Beach, the first Croatia Rocks festival is sure to go off with a bang. There will be over 100 hours of live music and DJs across the five days of the event, plus plenty of boat and beach parties and some secret VIP ones to boot. Events will be taking place at two of Novalja’s top clubs – Papaya and Aquarius.
Some top names have already been announced for the line-up – these include latest hot things Clean Bandit, Rudimental (DJ set) and Jungle, plus legends such as Zane Lowe and Fatboy Slim, and many more. Further names are still to be added to the bill, so check back regularly!
Getting to Pag and Croatia Rocks
Croatia Rocks are organising transfers from several Croatian airports (Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Pula) and even further afield (Trieste, Venice, Treviso and Ljubljana). Opting for one of these airport transfers, even if it’s just one way (if you’re planning on travelling around before or after the festival) is probably the easiest way of reaching the festival site.
The nearest airport to Novalja and the island of Pag is Zadar on the Croatian mainland. Ryanair are the only airline to fly to Zadar from the UK and Ireland – for 2015, they will be operating flights from London Stansted, Manchester and Dublin airports. Zadar Airport is also served by a good number of flights from elsewhere in Europe; see our Getting to North Dalmatia page for these air routes.
If you want to make your own way from Zadar airport, take a transfer bus to the main bus terminal in Zadar (you’ll see buses waiting outside the terminal building), which is about a 20-minute journey. From here you can take an additional bus direct to Novalja – the island is in fact connected to the mainland by bridge. Journey time from Zadar to Novalja is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes; check the Zadar Bus Terminal website for more details.
There is a direct bus from Zagreb to Novalja (journey time 5.5 hours – see the Zagreb Bus Terminal website) whilst Split is about 4.5 hours south of Novalja. In the summer months, there’s a direct bus service run by Antonio Tours from Split to Novalja that operates in the late afternoon/evening. Tickets and Accommodation for Croatia Rocks
Standard tickets cost £119 (+ booking fee), whilst you can also get VIP tickets for £179 (+ booking fee) which includes queue jump wristbands, entry to VIP events and more. Don’t forget that there’s the all-important boat parties too – tickets for these are sold separately.
