The Festival
After the success of the very first Terraneo Festival in 2011, it returns for 2012 with a really cracking line-up! Over 30,000 revellers from all over Europe attended the inaugural event
which, alongside musical performances, saw a number of ecological workshops and lectures.
The Festival is held on
Bribirski knezovi barracks which is 4km from the centre of Sibenik - and only 500 metres from the sea! (There will be special buses running between the centre of Sibenik and the Festival site.)
Performances will take place on three open air stages (two for live music and one for live DJs and other live events) plus two DJ stages, with all performances kicking off at 5pm on each day.
The eco element of the Festival is divided into three parts - Eco Actions, Eco Art and Eco Smart. Eco Smart, for example, aims to raise awareness of ecological and environmental issues during the Festival, through lectures, exhibitions and the like. Eco Art will see a art competition and exhibition on an environmental theme take place.
Tickets for Terraneo Tickets are now on sale for the event and can be bought online at Eventim.hr.
Tickets cost 350 Kunas (£39/€46/$61) for the three-day festival, with festival + camping tickets becoming available soon.
Accommodation for the Festival As mentioned above, there will be an on-site camp with full facilities (toilets, showers, lockers, battery/mobile phone chargers) where you can stay. In order to stay at the campsite, a festival + camping ticket must be purchased - these will be released for purchase soon.
Alternatively, there's plenty of other accommodation options in Sibenik and the nearby area. You can search for hotels, apartments and other accommodation using the box below:
Getting to Sibenik There are two airports that you could fly to in order to reach Sibenik - Split or Zadar. Split is the marginally closer of the two, but do see both our Getting to Split and Getting to North Dalmatia (for a list of airlines that fly to Zadar from all over Europe) pages as you may find the latter better depending on your starting city.
From either of these airports, it is advisable to first travel to the city's main bus terminal (there are regular buses from each airport), and then travel on by another bus to Split. You can look up timetables on either the Zadar Bus Terminal or Split Bus Terminal websites.
