The Festival
SunceBeat returns for the third year running - but in a beautiful new location in Croatia! Organised by the people behind the successful Southport Weekender, this year's SunceBeat - like a number of other festivals in Croatia - will be moving from the village of Petrcane to the small town of Tisno, which is halfway between Zadar and Split.
The change of location brings many new opportunities for the festivals that were previously held in Petrcane. Now located near a private sandy cove, festivals will now offer on-site accommodation for the first time, and Barbarella's Nightclub has a larger capacity - amongst many other benefits!
One thing that stays the same for 2012 is the end-of-July date, with this year's event taking place from 27th to 29th July. The line-up for the third SunceBeat has yet to be announced, but will definitely be as good as in previous years - if not better! DJs that made an appearance last year include DJ Spen, Kerri Chandler, Souldynamic, Karizma and Tony Humphries, amongst many others.
Tickets for SuncéBeat
Early bird tickets for the three-day have all sold out, so it's regular-priced tickets that are left! These cost £105 and include entry to additional events being organised by SunceBeat that will be held from 25th July and 1st August. Tickets also include entry into the on-site club, Barbarella's.
Tickets can be bought from the festival website.
Accommodation for the Festival
As mentioned, the change of venue means on-site accommodation is available for the first time, with two types of apartments that can be rented, as well as a limited number of Indian Shikar tents that have a number of mod-cons! There is also some space for those bringing their own tents and camping gear. Full information about all these options in available on festival's Acccommodation page.
Alternatively, you can also book your own accomodation in the town of Tisno or in the nearby area using the search box below:
As you will see, there's a number of small hotels and private accommodation options for Tisno, with more available in other nearby towns such as Murter, Pirovac and Vodice.
Getting to Tisno
Tisno is located roughly halfway between the Zadar and Split - a great location, not just for the festival, but also for the ease in reaching it! The town is in fact situated half on the mainland and half on the small island of Murter (only 20m away, connected by a short bridge).
The best airport to fly to is Split. There are many flights to here from the UK, including those from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted in London, as well as from Bristol and Manchester - see our Getting to Split page for details. There are also a great number of flights from other European cities.
Flying to Zadar (as in previous years) from the UK is still an option - Ryanair will still fly there from London Stansted and they are also starting a new route from East Midlands airport. See the Getting to North Dalmatia section for more info.
You can make your own way to Tisno from either of the above places. Look up bus timetables on the Split Bus Terminal and Zadar Bus Terminal websites.
If you're having trouble getting public transport to Tisno, try searching for buses to "Murter"; you could also travel to Sibenik, which is the nearest large town to Tisno and the island of Murter. There are many buses per day to Sibenik from both Zadar or Split.
Do also see our Getting There & Travelling Around sections for more options of reaching Croatia from the UK and other parts of Europe and then travelling to Tisno. (Or for getting away from Tisno after the Festival ends.)
For more on the town of Tisno, check out the website of Tisno tourist office.
