The Festival
Stop Making Sense burst onto the Croatian festival scene in September 2010, moving to a prime mid-August slot last year. This year it edges closer towards the start of August, findind itself on the tail-end of all the amazing festivals that are all now being held in the picturesque little town of Tisno. (Imagine attending all five of the festivals held there from 4th July to 6th August - amazing!)

Billed as an "eclectic selection of musical delights over 5 days and nights by the sea", the new venue of Tisno won't take away any of the previous coastal delights of the previous year's festivals - quite the reverse, in fact! A beautiful and private sandy cove, on-site accommodation (for the first time ever), a larger clube venue (for partying away until the early hours) - what's not to love?!

2012's acts have yet to be announced, so keep watching, though this year is sure to match the great line-ups of the previous years' events. Early-bird tickets are already available, however, so now's a great time to book to take advantage of the lower ticket price. As with the other festivals located on the same site, the Stop Making Sense festival will also feature boat parties (not included in the ticket price), final details of which are also to be announced.

The Sunday Times included this Festival in its Top 100 Music Festivals guide for 2010.

Tickets for the Stop Making Sense Festival
Tickets are available from the Festival website and cost £90 for 2012.

Accommodation for the Festival
Because of the change of venue, on-site accommodation is available for the first time, with a small number of apartments. There is also luxury camping available, plus space for those bringing their own camping gear. More info about all of this on festival's Acccommodation page.

You can also book your own accomodation in Tisno or in the nearby area - find out what's available using the search box below:

There's a number of small hotels and private accommodation options in Tisno, and more options in the other nearby towns of Murter, Pirovac and Vodice.

Getting to Tisno
Located roughly halfway between the Zadar and Split the town of Tisno and the Stop Making Sense festival is relatively easy to reach!

Although slightly further away to Tisno than Zadar Airport, Split is the best place to fly into as there are many flights to here from the UK - see our Getting to Split page for details. There are also a great number of flights from other European cities.

Ryanair will still fly to Zadar from London Stansted and they are also starting a new route from East Midlands airport this year. See the Getting to North Dalmatia section for more info on these routes and those from other European cities.

You can make your own way to Tisno from either Split or Zadar. Look up bus timetables on the Split Bus Terminal and Zadar Bus Terminal websites.

If you're having trouble getting public transport to Tisno, try searching for buses to "Murter"; you could also travel to Sibenik, which is the nearest large town to Tisno and the island of Murter. There are many buses per day to Sibenik from both Zadar or Split.

Do also see our Getting There & Travelling Around sections for more options of reaching Croatia from the UK and other parts of Europe and then travelling to Tisno. (Or for getting away from Tisno after the Festival ends.)

For more on the town of Tisno, check out the website of Tisno tourist office.
