The Festival
A brand new festival for the Petrcane site, the Stop Making Sense festival will make it's debut this year and it will no doubt be a great success! A September festival for Croatia is perfect as this month is one of the best to visit the country in - most of the summer crowds will have gone home, but the weather will still be hot and sunny and the sea temperature perfect. The Sunday Times included the Festival in its Top 100 Music Festivals guide for 2010.

There's a number of acts and sets already announced, including Londoners SecretSundaze and Favela Chic, plus Need2Soul, Allez Allez and Movimientos. Many more acts to be announecd soon.

As with the other festivals located on the same site, the Stop Making Sense festival will also feature boat and club parties (tickets cost extra), the final details of which are also to be announced.

For the real hedonists amongst you, it is worth pointing out that the another festival in Petrcane - the Electric Elephant - is in fact held only the weekend before. You could well combine this festival with the Electric Elephant Festival, perhaps spending the time in between travelling around the Croatian coastline!

Tickets for the Stop Making Sense Festival
Tickets are available from the Festival website, or from ticketing agencies such as Ticketweb and WeGotTickets. Early bird tickets for the festival weekend cost £60, otherwise it's £80. Tickets for the boat parties and club parties must be bought separately and cost extra.

Accommodation for the Festival
The Festival site is located within the grounds of the 4-star Hotel Pinija, so this would be the easiest accommodation option although the hotel does tend to get booked up pretty quickly.

You can also search for accommodation in and near Petrcane using the search box below:

There are a couple of campsites that are situated close to the Festival site: Autocamp Peros-Zaton and Camp Pineta. Both campsites accept both tents and motorhomes (should you have one of these!) but are relatively small, so may get full relatively quickly.

Getting to Petrcane
Zadar Airport is the nearest to the village of Petrcane, at about 15 miles/24km away. Please see our Getting to North Dalmatia section for details of which airlines fly to Zadar from the UK and Europe.

There are buses that are timed to coincide with flight arrivals to Zadar Airport that will take you to the main bus station in Zadar. You can then take another local bus to Petrcane - or elsewhere, depending on where you are staying.

Split is another possible airport to fly if you'd like some more options - see our Getting to Split page for air routes and more.

Alternatively, take a look at our Getting There & Travelling Around sections for other possible options of reaching Croatia and then travelling to Petrcane.
