Now in its fourth year, Soundwave is changing venue for 2012! As with the other festivals that were previously held in the village of Petrcane, Soundwave will this year be moving to the very pretty town of Tisno in the new The Garden Tisno location. Tisno is a small town that is situated half on the mainland and half on the island of Murter (if you think that doesn't make sense it does - the island is only 20m from the mainland!) and is sure to be an idyllic setting for this year's festival.

A number of exciting acts have already been added to the Soundwave bill, including DY Yoda, Hidden Orchestra, Ghostpoet, Craig Charles and Mr Thing with many more to be announced.

The change in venue doesn't mean any change to the festival's many delights! The very famous boat parties will still take place and with the amazing Kornati islands a very short distance away from Tisno, these parties will be even more fabulous in 2012!

One of the more popular festivals in the country, Sounwave was selected by Reuters in their 2011 Top 10 International Music Festivals guide, and The Spectator gave the 2010 event a great review in Music: Interrail.

The Festival
Organised by UK promoters Soundcrash and New Bohemia, the event is a wonderful opportunity to experience a music festival that's right on the beautiful Adriatic coastline - what could be better?

In additional to festival performances, there are a number of organised boat parties (tickets for these are extra) as well as a great nightclub on site for after-parties so there's plenty of fun to be had all day and night!

Soundwave Croatia
Boat parties at Soundwave!

Soundwave would be perfect if you're just after a long weekend festival event in Europe, although there's also a great opportunity for you to combine it with a holiday on Croatia's coastline either before or after.

For the hedonists amongst you, you could also combine it with the one (or both!) of the two festivals that are held in the preceeding few weeks in the same location - Garden Festival or Electric Elephant.

Tickets for Soundwave Croatia
Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased on from a number of UK tickets agencies - see the list on the Soundwave Festival's website.

A limited number of early-bird tickets for the five-day event are still available, costing £105.

As mentioned, boat party tickets are to be sold separately and details of these will be announced in due course.

Accommodation for the Festival
The change of venue for 2012 means that there is now more on-site accommodation available, with both apartments and camping on the festival grounds. The organisers advise to email gail@thegardenzadar.com for advance details of accommodation.

Alternatively, you can also book your own accomodation in Tisno or nearby using the search box below:

As you will see, there's a number of small hotels and private accommodation options in Tisno itself. There are also a few more options in other nearby towns such as Murter, Pirovac and Vodice.

Getting to Tisno
Tisno is roughly halfway between the town of Zadar and the city of Split which is a great location - not just for the festival, but also for the ease in reaching it!

There are a large number of flights to Split from the UK, including those from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted in London, as well as from Bristol and Manchester. See our Getting to Split page for details of all air routes. As you will also see on that page, there are also many flights to Split from elsewhere in Europe.

You can still fly to Zadar from the UK - this year, Ryanair will fly to Zadar from London Stansted and will also start a new route from East Midlands airport. Once again, there are plenty of flights from the rest of Europe to Zadar. See the Getting to North Dalmatia section for details of these.

Contact the festival organisers to arrange transfer to the festival site; alternatively you can make your own way to Tisno. Check out the Split Bus Terminal and Zadar Bus Terminal websites for timetable details.

If you're having trouble getting public transport to Tisno, try searching for buses to "Murter"; you could also travel to Sibenik - the nearest large town to Tisno and the island of Murter. There are many buses per day to Sibenik from either Zadar or Split.

Do take a look at our Getting There & Travelling Around sections for other possible options of reaching Croatia from the UK and other parts of Europe and then travelling to Tisno. (Or for getting away from Tisno after the Festival ends.)

For more on the town of Tisno, check out the website of Tisno tourist office.
