The Festival
Described as "Europe's largest bass culture and dubstep festival", the Outlook Festival is now in its third year. Having previously been situated in Petrcane (2008) and at the Superclub in Novalja, on the island of Pag (2009), the Festival now finds its new home in the amazing Punta Christo, a wonderful fort from the 19th century located on a peninsula close to Pula. As the official website says, "in the UK this place would be a national heritage site and there wouldn't be chance of holding a festival of any kind within its walls. But we're not in the UK and so we have the chance to create a festival venue unlike one you have ever seen." Very true!
As such, the Fort lends itself to some spectacular venues for the Festival. Stages are to be erected in the main courtyard (where the majority of acts will perform) for a capacity of 2,000 and in "Mungo's Courtyard" with a capacity of 800. There's also "The Dungeon" for 300 people, and "Noah's Ballroom", a circular pit that will feature a soundsystem.
During the day, festivalgoers can have fun at parties on the beach which is by the festival campsite, as well as booking themselves onto the infamous boat parties wich feature DJs, MCs and a bar. (Boat parties must be booked separately as they're not included in the festival ticket price.)
The 2010 lineup includes names such as Roots Manuva, Digital Mystikz, Michael Prophet feat. Dub Asante and Macka B, with more acts to be added.

Accommodation for the Festival
The official website states that they are in the process of organising special accomodation for those attending the festival. They also mention a festival campsite on their website, so that's likely to be an option.
If you are considering organising your own accommodation, you might like to see what options are available in nearby Pula using the below search box:
Getting to Pula
Pula Airport is the nearest to the Festival location. There's a number of airlines that fly from the UK to Pula, including Ryanair, Croatia Airlines and Thomsonfly
. You may even consider flying to nearby Italy with Ryanair and transferring across to Istria. There's also quite a few options for flying from elsewhere in Europe. Few details of all of these possibilities are on our Getting to Istria page.
Tranfers are possible from the airport to the main bus station in Pula, from where you can make your way to the Festival site, though the Outlook Festival are also in the process of organising their own transfers. For those looking for a cheap way of getting to the festival, you make like to consider the "Sunshine Bus", arranged by the festival organisers. For £135 plus booking fee, you can book a return coach from the UK to Pula. The bus departs locations in Manchester and London to take festivalgoers direct to the festival site in Croatia. More info
