The Festival
A one-day event held in Croatia's capital, the Mars Festival is great for those wishing to combine a city break in Zagreb (a city that's ever-increasing in popularity) with a bit of rocking out and partying!

Details of this year's event are still emerging, but one thing we do know is the exciting news that US rock band 30 Seconds To Mars will be the headliners. More acts will be announced in due course.

The Festival will be held at the Klub Mocvara & Dvorana Jedinstvo, with the main stage in the outdoor courtyard whilst two more stages or areas are located indoors, as per last year's event.

Klub Mocvara is located on a street called Trinjanski nasip which is close to the Sava river, near the Most slobode (Liberty Bridge). If you're heading from the main bus station in Zagreb, take tram number 5 and get off at the Kruge stop. It is then a short walk from here. Alternatively, if you're heading from the main train station/Trg bana Jelacica, take tram 6 and get off at the Drziceva stop (or the one after); again, it will be a short walk from here.

Tickets for the Mars Festival
Tickets went on sale on 8th March 2011, and can be purchased from Croatian ticket site Eventim.hr. A ticket costs 200 Kunas unitl 28th March (approx. £23/€27/$37.50 as of March 2011); then 230 Kunas from 29th March. Tickets on the door will cost 260 Kunas.

Accommodation for the Festival
As it's just a one-day festival there won't, of course, be any official accommodation, but no matter - you have plenty of choice in a city as large as Zagreb, everything from hostels to 5-star hotels if the latter is more to your liking!

See our Accommodation in Zagreb page for full details; alternatively, you can search for accommodation using the search box below:

Getting to Zagreb
Easyjet fly 5 times a week route from London Gatwick to Zagreb, whilst Croatia Airlines operate daily flights from London Heathrow.
