The Festival
A one-day event held in Croatia's capital, the Mars Festival may be a great festival to attend for those who find themselves in Croatia on the final Friday and who fancy a bit of a party. That final weekend in May is, in fact, a Bank Holiday weekend in Britain, so this might be the perfect opportunity to combine a short city break with a quality music event!
Acts on the bill this year that are confirmed include Skunk Anansie, Kavinsky, Atlas Sound and The Orange Strips, amongst others. Starting in the evening, there will be over 10 hours of live music!
The Festival will be held at the Klub Mocvara &
Dvorana Jedinstvo, with the main stage in the outdoor courtyard whilst two more stages or areas held indoors.
Klub Mocvara is located on a street called Trinjanski nasip which is close to the Sava river, near the Most slobode (Liberty Bridge). If you're heading from the main bus station in Zagreb, take tram number 5 and get off at the Kruge stop, it is then a short walk from here. Alternatively, if you're heading from the main train station/Trg bana Jelacica, take tram 6 and get off at the Drziceva stop (or the one after); again, it will be a short walk from here. Tickets for the Mars Festival
Tickets can be purchased from Croatian ticket site Eventim.hr and cost 230 Kunas at the moment (approx. £28/€32/$42), though they will also be on sale at the door on the day of the event for 270 Kunas.
Accommodation for the Festival
