The fourth Electric Elephant Festival sees it remain in its mid-July slot (which was new for 2011), but with a new venue!

As with the other festivals that were previously held in the village of Petrcane, Electric Elephant will also be moving to the village of Tisno (located inbetween Zadar and Split) for 2012, with the event being held in The Garden Tisno. This is sure to be a great venue for Electric Elephant - with a private sandy bay (don't forget that sandy beaches are a rarity in Croatia!) for some daytime chilling, a larger main stage, bigger capacity on-site club plus the return of all the previous year's delights (boat parties!), this change of venue is sure to make the Electric Elephant experience even better.

The line-up for this year's event is yet to be announced, but will no doubt be as fantastic as always. Do regularly check the Electric Elephant website for updates.

For the real hedonists amongst you, don't forget that the timing of this festival once again provides a fantastic opportunity for nearly two weeks of solid partying what with the Garden Festival the week before!

In the meantime, to get a feel for what the festival is all about, read this great review of the 2010 event from Skiddle.com: Electric Elephant 2010 and The Guardian explains the charms of the 2009 event (and its previous location, Petrcane): How Croatia splashed on to the music festival map

The Festival
Organised by UK DJs and promoters Unabombers. The Festival promotes a wide mix of music from its live acts and DJs - from reggae, electronica, soul, house and techno. The festival also hosts famous daytime boat parties, where revellers can enjoy partying it up on the seas, and there will also be a number of other fun activities to take part in.

Tickets for the Electric Elephant
Tickets for the event cost £89.99 can be purchased via the Electric Elephant's tickets page (which also has links to other ticketing sites which sell festival tickets).

Tickets do not include entry onto the boat parties - tickets for these must be purchased separately. (These will be released at a later date.)

As mentioned, you can also purchase "Double Whammy" tickets which allow you entry into both the Garden Festival and Electric Elephant events - thirteen consecutive days of partying! These cost £150, and can be purchased from the Garden Festival's tickets page.

Accommodation for the Festival
The change of site for 2012 means that there is now more on-site accommodation available, with both apartments and camping (either organised, or for those bringing their own camping gear) within the festival grounds. There's some very detailed information about on-site accommodation options on the festival's Acccommodation page.

Alternatively, you can also book your own accomodation in Tisno or the nearby area using the search box below:

As you will see, there's a number of small hotels and private accommodation options in Tisno itself, with a few more options in other nearby towns such as Murter, Pirovac and Vodice.

Getting to Tisno
Tisno is a small town located roughly halfway between the Zadar and Split, making it a great location - not just for the festival, but also for the ease in reaching it! The town is in fact situated half on the mainland and half on the small island of Murter (which is only 20m away from the mainland, connected by a short bridge).

The best airport to fly to is probably Split as there are a large number of flights to here from the UK, including those from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted in London, as well as from Bristol and Manchester - see our Getting to Split page for details. (There are also many flights from other European cities to Split, as shown on that page).

You can still fly to Zadar from the UK - this year, Ryanair will fly there from London Stansted; they are also starting a new route to Zadar from East Midlands airport this year. See the Getting to North Dalmatia section for details of these.

Contact the festival organisers to arrange transfer to the festival site; alternatively you can make your own way to Tisno. Look up bus timetables on the Split Bus Terminal and Zadar Bus Terminal websites.

If you're having trouble getting public transport to Tisno, try searching for buses to "Murter"; you could also travel to Sibenik - the nearest large town to Tisno and the island of Murter. There are many buses per day to Sibenik from both Zadar or Split.

Do check out our Getting There & Travelling Around sections for more options of reaching Croatia from the UK and other parts of Europe and then travelling to Tisno. (Or for getting away from Tisno after the Festival ends.)

For more on the town of Tisno, check out the website of Tisno tourist office.
