The Kvarner
Riviera is home to a number of well-known resorts and islands, as well as Rijeka, one of Croatia's larger cities. Opatija has been a holiday resort for more than 100 years, when it used to host well-to-do Austro-Hungarians, and is still considered something of an upmarket resort today. The islands of Krk, Cres, Losinj, Rab and Pag have something to offer everyone - from the beautiful, lush vegetation of Losinj to Pag and its popular party resort of Novalja.
The Riviera part of Croatia is now, unfortunately, not so directly accessible from the
UK as Easyjet
have stopped flying the main airport in the region - Rijeka
Airport (located on the island of Krk). Croatia Airlines, however, do have a once a week flight from London to Rijeka. It is also possible to reach Rijeka easily from Zagreb by road, rail and
air.

There are also good ferry connections to the nearby islands
from Rijeka.
