Located in this region of Croatia is the beautiful coastal town of Makarska, which is certainly recommended as a holiday destination! Resort towns Brela and Baska Voda (the former a smaller resort, the latter larger and more busy) are also lovely. Omis is the first town you come to as you travel from Split down the coast, whilst Tucepi and Podgora are two small by lovely (the first famous for a long stretch of beach) resorts.

You can reach this part of the country by flying to Split (scheduled and charter flights from elsewhere in Europe - see our Getting There section), which is just north of the Riviera. There are also good bus connections from elsewhere in Croatia.
